n e v e r...

Never a day passes that I do not remember

the afternoon classes
the bunking on streets
the quick step on stairs
the roaming moments
the regular quarrels
the essence that was in life

Never a day passes that I do not remember

And never a day passes that I do not remember
I remember in the presence of things
The cheerfulness, the beauty, the energy
The passion that was in life
The love stamped indelibly in me
The empty seat at my heart

I remember because it hurts for things that are no more!

And never a day passes that I do not remember
And quiet often I remember
I Cry.

Reminds me of the song :'In my life', have a listen to it, if you don't know it.

"In My Life" by whom??

Autumn Storm said...

Its one of those songs that many different artists have done. Bette Midler does quite a nice version.

Mail you the song, I wouldn't even begin to know how to do that.
Though come to think of it, that's a 'happy' song and your poem here is quite sad.
Perhaps 'Memories' (Barbra Streisand) is in fact the song that better befits :-)
